Hvað er stúdentaráð?
Stúdentaráð samanstendur af 17 fulltrúum sem kjörnir eru á vormisseri ári hverju í stúdentaráðskosningum meðal allra stúdenta við Háskóla Íslands.
Fjöldi fulltrúa er ákvarðaður í samræmi við fjölda nemenda á fræðasviðunum.
Hvert fræðasvið fyrir sig hefur þrjá fulltrúa fyrir utan félagsvísindasvið sem hefur fimm fulltrúa.
What is the Student Council?
The Student Council consists of 17 representatives who are elected in the spring semester each year among all students at the University of Iceland.
The representatives are determined in accordance with the number of students in each School of study. 3 representatives from each School, except for 5 representatives in the School of Social Sciences

Háskólaráð
Háskólaráð er æðsta stjórnvald háskólans og er skipað samkvæmt lögum um opinbera háskóla. Háskólaráð markar stefnu háskólans og fer með úrskurðarvald í málefnum skólans. Háskólaráðið hittist mánaðarlega og taka stefnumótandi ákvarðanir. Stjórn og fjármál skólans eru ábyrgð háskólaráðsins.
Stúdentar eiga tvo fulltrúa í Háskólaráði sem eru kjörnir til tveggja ára í senn.
The University Council
The University Council is the supreme authority of the University and is composed according to the law about public universities. The council defines the direction of the University and has judicial review of matters regarding the University. The management and finances of the University are the responsibility of the University Council. Students have two representatives in the University Council, elected for two years at a time.
